I wish to convey my heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerian youths on the occasion of the 2023 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

This year’s Democracy Day is significant, as it marks the 𝟐𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 of the return to civil rule in Nigeria. It is a day to celebrate the hard-won victory of Nigerian democracy, as well as reflect on the journey so far and chart a course for the future.

As we celebrate Democracy Day, I implore you, the Nigerian youths, to remain resolute and committed to the advancement of our beloved nation. You are the future of this country, and your participation in matters of governance and nation-building is key to a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 is committed to working with the government, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to create opportunities for youths to thrive in various fields, including education, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Furthermore, we urge the government to prioritize youth participation by creating an enabling environment for the realization of their dreams and aspirations. We call on all youths to hold the government accountable and contribute their quota to nation-building.

As we reflect on the past, let us remember the sacrifices of our founding fathers who fought tirelessly for Nigeria’s independence and democracy. We must also remember the heroes of our democracy who paid the ultimate price for the freedom we enjoy today.

In conclusion, I encourage you all to use this Democracy Day to reflect on your roles as Nigerian youths and how you can contribute to building a better Nigeria. The journey ahead may be daunting, but with hard work, resilience, and the right attitude, we can achieve great things as a nation.
